Transits describe a direct relationship between an ambient planet and a natal planet. “Pattern returns” describe the recurrence of planetary factors that don’t always have a direct link to natal placements. These “holographic transits,” as the late Robert Blaschke called them, utilize synodic cycles (the cycle of a planet in relation to the Sun) to offer a potent alternative for identifying significant events.
